Clean your trays regularly
It is important to soak the trays in diluted mouthwash for just 3-5 minutes to keep your aligners as fresh as possible. This helps to avoid an off-putting mouth taste and reduces the amount of harmful bacteria. Regular cleaning of your trays will also help prevent stains from accumulating, and keep them polished as well.
Eat. Brush. Insert. Repeat
Create a ritual for yourself to insert the trays after meals and only when your teeth are brushed. Wearing your aligners on brushed teeth will help prevent cavities as well as damage to trays caused by food remnants.
Make a portable care kit for yourself
Brushing and flossing should become your best friends while wearing Invisalign. Try to keep a toothbrush and floss with you at all times. For your convenience, especially while traveling, consider organizing a mini kit for storage of your toothbrush/mini-interdental brushes, floss and tray case.
Save your nails and health and get a special tool to remove your aligners
When in the process of straightening teeth with Invisalign, we often have to sacrifice our nail beauty. Having a special tool that removes the trays will help to save the shape of your nails. In addition, harmful bacteria accumulates underneath your fingernails. Having a tool to remove your aligners prevents that bacteria from reaching your mouth.
Track your success and set a reminder
The best way to see the effects of Invisalign as quickly as possible is by wearing the aligners 22 hours per day. Set a reminder on your phone so you don’t forget to wear them and avoid long breaks in between wearing. This can also help with tracking the amount of time you’ve worn them, ensuring you reach 22 hours per day.
