Des Plaines, Illinois – December 7th, 2022 – At Orthodontic Experts, we have long treasured our patients, communities, and partners that allow us to give back while simultaneously aiding in our continued growth. However, they are not the only valued individuals who boost Orthodontic Experts’ morale; our department heads truly uphold and demonstrate our mission by empowering and educating all individuals they come into contact with. So, without further ado, please meet Karolina Lekarczyk, our Vice President of Operations and Human Resources from our Des Plaines Support Center!
In 2015, Karolina began working as the front desk personnel of our Harwood Heights location. Once in this position, she was surprised just how easily she connected with her clinic’s patients using the English, Spanish, and Polish languages. Therefore, with each unique experience, Karolina found herself more in love with the vast clinic positions that always make a difference in our patients’ lives. She had always been a problem solver, learning the different duties seemed to come natural to Karolina – she would provide solutions for teammates and patients through personalized treatment plans as well as by following the individual patient journey. Thus, with Karolina clearly demonstrating her interpersonal and problem-solving skills, the ability to grow with the company while simultaneously forging her own career path became her own reality.
With Karolina’s commitment, admiration, and vigilance to the company and its patients, she proved both her work ethic and love for the company. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the Orthodontic Experts founder and President, Dr. Yaroslav Yarmolyuk, actually took her under his wing. When discussing this time of her life, she states that “[She] was lucky that Dr. Yarmolyuk took his time to explain orthodontics to [her] as it allowed [her] the opportunity to learn about the why behind his treatment plans.” This newfound knowledge and skill set further encouraged Karolina to take patient treatments to the next level, such as making sure that each patient is educated to understand the ‘why’ behind their treatment journey.
After almost eight years of experience with Orthodontic Experts, though, Karolina has acquired many essential skills. Specifically, the most beneficial skill that she has obtained is the ability to truly listen. Before she started, she was often a naturally direct person. However, being too assertive can come with its consequences, especially when on a team. Therefore, Karolina found it necessary to listen to others before asserting her own thoughts. In turn, she found much success through hearing out all her teammates in order to work more efficiently together. However, this lifelong skill is not only beneficial for her professional life. Instead, genuinely hearing people’s worries and experiences have taught her to be more open in her personal life as well. All in all, it seems that the growth garnered from Orthodontic Experts is quite universal.
