At Orthodontic Experts, we love to celebrate our doctors and staff just as much as our patients. With this said, please help us congratulate Dr. Patel on her pregnancy! She will be starting her maternity leave at the end of December. On behalf of the entire community of Orthodontic Experts, we wish Dr. Patel the best of luck with her new adventure.
However, we have another, just as exciting announcement. Please join us in welcoming your new temporary Aurora Doctors, Dr. Aris Panagiotou and Dr. Raj Desai! Doctor Aris Panagiotou has been creating dream smiles with Orthodontic Experts at our Rockford and DeKalb clinics since early 2023 while Doctor Raj Desai has been transforming smiles with Orthodontic Experts since June of 2022 for our Algonquin and Burbank locations. Now, starting in December, both doctors will officially be bringing their expertise to the patients of Aurora. So, you can rely on both Dr. Aris Panagiotou and Dr. Raj Desai to provide the same great care that Dr. Patel has been providing.
Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Dr. Aris quickly became trilingual in Greek, English, and Turkish which helped propel his journey into orthodontics. In 2009, he graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Athens in Greece. After that, he began his three-yearslong journey in a specialty-program of Orthodontics at the University of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey – this culminated in Dr. Aris earning his Master’s of Science degree. Dr. Aris then traveled to the Netherlands where he worked as an Associate Orthodontist at a private practice. After that, he moved to Rochester, New York where he completed another Orthodontic specialty-program at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health. Finally, Dr. Aris traveled to the Midwest where he began transforming dream smiles with Orthodontic Experts.
Initially from New Jersey, Dr. Desai earned his B.A. in Biology from New York University. He then continued his education by earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University. Finding his passion, he then traveled to San Diego VA Hospital for his general practice residency. After that, he decided to try his luck in the Midwest, thus completing a rigorous orthodontic program at UIC. Thankfully, Dr. Desai enjoyed the area as that is when he officially joined the Orthodontic Experts team.
